You may think that pristine beaches, celebrity lifestyles and impeccable weather are all that Miami has to offer. But Miami has a great sporting tradition, and 3 world-renowned teams that each boast their own incredible stadium. The following guide highlights the must-see venues for any sports fan visiting Miami.

For those initiated in the unique world of American sports, the three main national games are (American) football, basketball and baseball. The sports are often referred to by the names of the leagues that encompass the biggest teams in the USA, namely the NFL (football), NBA (basketball) and MLB (baseball).

To understand just how passionate this patriotic nation is about it’s sports, you really have to experience the atmosphere first-hand. With three huge sports teams in Miami, those wanting to soak up some of that sporting atmosphere will be spoilt for choice.

Miami Heat – Miami Heat are currently one of the top sides in the NBA, boasting the considerable talents of “The Big Three”, LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. They are currently in a great run of form, finishing as second seed in last seasons play-offs.

Miami Heat play their games at the American Airlines Arena, set in the heart of Downtown Miami. The small crowd size of approximately 3000, and close proximity seats offer an incomparable atmosphere.

Miami Dolphins – In comparison with Miami Heat’s American Airlines Arena, the recently renamed Sun Life Stadium offers a entirely different experience. The stadium’s enormous capacity of 75,192 makes it one of the largest sports facilities in the world, and the noise inside the stadium can reach deafening levels.

The Dolphins themselves had been going through a rocky period, but seem to have stabilised as of late, under head coach Sam Sparano. But the Dolphins are yet to reach the dizzy heights set by legendary head coach Don Shula, who produced an unprecedented undefeated season in 1972.

Miami Marlins – The Miami Marlins, previously known as the Florida Marlins, have recently built a new stadium on the historic former site of the Orange Bowl Arena, in Little Havana. The stadium has been designed specifically for baseball, and therefore offers the best possible sight-lines for baseball fans. The stadium also has a retractable roof, so games can be played in all weather conditions.

Although the team aren’t doing particularly well at the moment, the new stadium is well worth a look, and the future looks bright for the Marlins!

All the previously mentioned teams and stadiums are a must-see when visiting Miami, however, before planning your visit be sure to check traffic reports as traffic in Miami can be notoriously bad. Alternatively, if you’re on vacation, plan ahead and make sure your Miami hotel is situated within easy reach of the venues you wish to travel to.

Also, be aware that the sports seasons start at different times of the year, so be sure to check what’s on well in advance. Miami offers the perfect introduction to the crazy world of American sports, and there’s no better place to discover the sporting joys that this unique country has to offer.

Why not make gift-giving fun for everyone? Sports gifts baskets are unique presents for sports enthusiasts of all ages. Celebrate birthdays and holidays with team themed baskets for baseball, football, and hockey. When you can’t get together with your friends for the championship game, send a basket stuffed with fan merchandise celebrating your favorite team. Choose from dozens of college and professional teams. Send a cheery get-well message with a basket packed with fun sports items. Reward employees for jobs well done with theme baskets for the sports they like best. What’s in a sports gift basket? While specific contents vary according to the sport and the team, a team basket typically includes a team cap, towel, mug, bumper strip, cushion, key chain, magnet, and/or money clip-all with the team logo. All items are attractively arranged in a wicker basket with team colored ribbons and bows. A greeting card carries your personal message.Another type of sports gift is a tailgate party gift pail. It’s a reusable, galvanized, decorated pail filled with snacks and treats that are just perfect for the post-game party. What’s in the pail? Snacks like salsa and chips, jerky bites, peanuts (salty, spicy, and honey roasted), snack mix, root beer, and cookies. Even if you can’t make it to the game and the party, send your buddies a tailgate party pail to let them know you’re thinking of them and wish you were there to join the celebration. For the racing enthusiast, consider a NASCAR gift basket. It’s full of NASCAR memorabilia and features a NASCAR logo utility kit bag.Are there any golfers on your gift list? A decorated golf gift box includes practice golf balls, golf-themed peanuts, a 250-page book of golf wisdom, and a tasty assortment of sweet and savory snacks. Or give a unique reusable insulated golf bag cooler stuffed full of golf-themed goodies like chocolate golf balls, golf ball decorated sugar cookies, and 10th tee energy bars. Either of these will make perfect trophies for your organization’s golf outing or fundraiser.Special sports gifts baskets celebrate special sporting events. For example, the New York Yankees Baseball Deluxe basket was a big hit when the new Yankee Stadium opened in April 2009. Both Yankees and Boston Red Sox baskets were very popular during the teams’ late season rivalry games in 2008. Tired of giving customers and employees wreaths for the holidays and plaques for retirements? Give sports gift baskets instead. More fun and more personable, sports baskets are gifts that will be remembered for a long time. Plus they are unique-you don’t have to worry that your recipients will receive similar gifts from anyone else. All gift items are selected for quality and arranged by hand. The baskets arrive fully assembled and attractively decorated, with your personal message attached. For fast and convenient gift giving send baskets to multiple recipients at different addresses. A sports gift basket is a novel and appropriate present for just about any occasion.

Adidas is one of the most easily recognised brands in the world. Indeed, they enjoy a global reputation, with outlets in all for corners of the globe. Their popularity as a brand is unsurprising, they have the unique ability to create sportswear that is comfortable, enhances performance, protects sportspeople from overstraining, but with the added bonus that their clothing is also fashionable. This gives them a much wider appeal than to the sporting community alone, their popularity encompasses a much broader audience.

Many sports personalities prefer the Adidas brand; you simply need to look to their advertising projects to see that even the highest calibre sportspeople endorse the Adidas brand. In part, this is because Adidas celebrate sports, and sports personalities, for instance, they pay tribute to favourite sportspeople by developing lines of clothing named after some of the world’s greatest sportspeople. For example, the Adidas Beckenbauer track top is a tribute to the incredible German footballer, Franz Beckenbauer, who played in three world cups, 1966, 1970, and 1974.

These personalities would not endorse these products if they did not meet the highest specifications, which the Adidas brand certainly does. Adi Dassler created the Adidas brand during the 1920s (although it was not until 1948 that he chose Adidas as the company name). His vision was to create a line of sports shoes that would protect the player from the injuries and stress inherent with professional sports, this meant creating shoes that protected ankles, provided suspension, had a strong outer shell, and yet were also malleable and would allow freedom of movement. His vision continues to be the underlying ethos of the Adidas brand, and we see it in all the lines of merchandise that the company produces.

Over the course of the past two decades, Adidas extended their vision; they wished to create sportswear that was fashionable and appealed to a much broader audience. From this expansion, Adidas Originals was born. Cottoning on to the popularity of the retro fashion scene, Adidas began rereleasing lines that had long since stopped production. The Adidas Beckenbauer track top is a perfect example; first released in 1982 it has now made its comeback and is a firm favourite amongst many fashionable people.

Urban fashion fans love the Adidas Originals line of fashion, which the hip-hop and the Britpop community finding it particularly attractive. Amongst the Adidas fashion ranges, there are many accessories, that are geared towards fashion tastes, rather than sporting requirements: the retro shoulder bags, digital watches, socks, holdalls; these are all available from the Adidas Originals range.

As well as branching into fashion, Adidas have also extended their sporting appeal and now cater for a much broader range of athletes. Skateboarders, Skaters, Ice Skaters, Bowlers and Javelin throwers, can all find sporting accessories from the Adidas brand.

Purchasing and reselling commemorative sports products even becomes a rewarding concern for some people. Many such collectors are devoted sports fans who have followed a specific sport or team for a while simply recalling the most obscure related facts, statistics data, minutiae and gossip you can most likely imagine.
